A Soggy Loss at Blacksburg

The Miami Hurricanes were handed their first loss by the Virginia Tech Hokies. Was the constant downpour a factor or was it that the Hokies are that much better of a team? Many critics have argued both sides, but saying that weather is an excuse for a team's loss, just does not cut it.

Miami was only held to 7 points, while the Hokies put up 31 on their home field. The Canes needs to step up their game, in order to continue to hunt for the ACC title. Can the Canes leave up to the expectation? Only time and polls will tell.

Wreck Tech!

Miami just did that, they won against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 33-17 and improved to 2-0 for the season. Yes, the season just started, but no one thought they would win against a powerful Georgia Tech team.

Throwing for 270 yards with three touchdowns, Jacory Harris looked in control and very comfortable throughout the game. He went 20 for 25 in the upset against the Yellow Jackets. Miami had a total of 453 yards of offense, while the defense held the Yellow Jackets to only 228 yards.

Harris told Hurricanesports.com, ""Man, Georgia Tech last year and years before, they always stop us from going to the ACC championship, but now, we had to come out and beat them. We were 0-4 ... we were playing with a chip on our shoulder. We had to let them know, this can't go on."

The Canes must continue winning, when they travel to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. A win against the Hokies will put Miami in the running for the ACC title and a BCS game.
