Friday afternoon the men's basketball season officially came to an end. The Hurricanes lost to Boston College 74-71 in overtime. The loss knocked the Canes out of receiving an invitation to play in the 2007 NCAA Tournament.
This game shouldn't have went into overtime. The Canes were dominating the Eagles throughout the entire game. Watching their performance, I was actually shocked. At one point in the game, I remember seeing the Canes up by 12 points, then late in the second half their lead was quickly diminishing.
Head coach Frank Haith told a Sun-Sentinel reporter, "We had them on the ropes, we just didn't finish."
The Canes ended the season with a 12-20 record. Hopefully next year they will have a more promising season.
